2011
Mike plays a lead role in the feature film "Two De Force." His role as U.S. Army General McKiernan is critical to the ending of this international thriller about United States /Chinese economic relations. The tension between the two giant powers leads to a conflict both realistic and thought-provoking. It is fictional, but could it really happen? The film is currently in the final stages of pre-release.

A regional commercial for Little Caesar's Pizza will air in the mid-west and southeast starting this fall. Mike plays a Bee Keeper representing a new honey mustard-flavored product just in time for the football party season.

The band Your Favorite Trainwreck produced a music video for the song "The Brilliance" where Mike plays a Texas rancher. The story features a look at George W. Bush in his younger and wilder days. Good music and good fun.

Two short films added to Mike's resume of character work. He plays an Army sergeant who must deal with a gay trooper under his command. The ending of this short subject, "Don't Ask, Don't Kill" is shocking. In "If We Don't Go," Mike plays Waldo, a redneck gear-head who sells a Mustang to a husband attempting to bring back this gift as a spark into his married life. This is a warm comedy that reaches a happy ending.

In 2011, the Kashi commercial for Canada was renewed and will be used as a national spot for their product once again.

Mike and his son Stephen, who is also an Army veteran, won accolades in October at the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The McCann father and son were asked by the VA to perform as a team, only the second time in the festival's 25-year history where a father-son team received a dual invitation from the VA. They won a Gold Medal for their patriotic prose reading of “What is A Veteran” which was written by a Marine Corps Chaplain.  Their performance was so-well received that they were only one of two acts in the stage show selected to repeat their performance in August of 2012 at the National Convention for the American Legion.
Mike also won two Bronze Medals for his drama entries as an actor. He won in the categories of Religious Poetry for “Angel of America” and Solo Comedy for “My Pills,” a comedy sketch written by Mike. He was also awarded a Creative Writing Bronze Medal for "My Pills."
It was a successful festival year for Mike and his son. 


2010
TV: Mike did an episode of the Spike TV series "1000 Ways To Die" called "Dead by Dearest," playing an over-protective Dad who while attempting scare off his daughter's new boyfriend accidentally kills himself instead. Mike also played a concerned parent in the "Drug Mom" episode of the "Discovery I.D." series "Unusual Suspects." The band "Loomis And The Lust" featured Mike as a senator in the music video for their song "ADD". In the role of a doctor, Mike completed a commercial for the Law Offices of Stephenson, Acquisto & Colman whose members offer their services to patients with legal questions regarding their medical care. Mike also appeared as corporate management in a YouTube comedy sketch called "Corporate Song and Dance." For the final season of the TV series "LOST", he was featured in a spec commercial spot which made it to the final judging out of hundreds of entries.

Film: A short film titled "A Made Man" featured Mike as the 1930's corrupt Chicago Councilman Alfred E. Smith who was murdered by the Mob. This film was done in coordination with the USC film program.

Industrial and Corporate video: The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs produced a video titled "Doubts" intended to welcome new Veterans coming home who need services at the VA. Mike played the role of an older Veteran seeking services that the young Vet is observing in process. Help Hospitalized Veterans produced a organizational image video where Mike expressed his experiences as a Veteran and his opinions of the support HHV provides to Veterans. Mike was cast in a lead role as the Boss in Streamline Health's office safety corporate commercial.
 


2008-2009
In commercials, Mike was happy to book national television ads for HealThisNation.org and Home Depot. He also portrayed a foreman on a Canadian national ad for Kashi cereal.

Mike played the role of Concerned Drug Parent in "Unusual Suspects" for Discovery ID, and he also participated in the online pilot "Best Date Ever" as a businessman and investor.

The Discovery Health channel featured Mike in the series "Mystery ER" in Fall 2008. Mike played the role of Dr. Nelson in this true story called "Climbing for Life." Click here to see Mike!

Mike played Bert Niehoff on the Fox Sports Network series "Amazing Sports Stories," episode #106, "The Jackie Mitchell Story," on May 18. Mike's role was that of the manager for the baseball team the Outlooks, featuring Jackie Mitchell, the wartime baseball star who just happens to be female. Click here to see Mike on the diamond!

The "Tiddy Bear" infomercial, featuring Mike, appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show"! Click here for more information on this funny segment.

Mike shot the movie "Haste," produced by Digital 35. As Rein, the right-hand man of mobster boss Michael, his character gets caught up in a power struggle between Michael and his son who wants to take over for Dad. The results are not good for Rein. Click here to see Mike in the Mob!

Mike appeared in the film "Where to Go," in which he played the executive who represents all business and corporate interests on earth. This stylistic story is about who really runs the world and leads all for the benefit of Big Business and the existing political machine.

Mike appeared in the trailer for the movie "The Long Night" produced by Midas Entertainment. Mike played a TV newscaster about to give mankind's last broadcast, as a horrific disaster is killing all humans on Earth. Click here to see Mike in action.

Mike was featured in "Eagle Eye," a Dreamworks thriller by Steven Spielberg. Mike played a congressional gallery member in the State of the Union message scene. Please check out its IMDB listing!

Mike played the role of the Sherrif in the short film "Henry Cladget and the Curly Wolves." The film was shot on the legendary back lot of Universal Studios. Click here to see Mike take on the bad guy in both still shots and video.

In the short film "Coffee Run," Mike harassed a young intern only to see the tables turned on him when his demand for coffee enhances the intern's professional standing. Click here to see Mike as the evil boss Mr. Stevenson.

In "William E. Dorfman," Mike played the title role of a man left by his wife. His first surprise was that everyone knew this was coming but him - his second surprise was a face-to-face meeting with karma. Click here to see pics of Mike!

Mike also starred in "Holy Cannoli!" as an Irish Catholic Priest who deals with a family in possession of a cannoli that bears the face of Jesus Christ. Pictures of Mike (and the blessed cannoli) are here!

Based upon the real-life story of the producer of this short film, "The Promise" told the story of a college football player and his relationships before he moved on to the pros playing for the Kansas City Chiefs. Mike played the college coach who confines the talent of the protagonist to the bench until team injuries give the coach no other choice than to play him. Click here to see pics of Mike!

The feature-length documentary "S.O.P." (Standard Operating Procedure) was released for general distribution in theaters. Mike played a U.S. Government Agent involved in prisoner interrogation procedures at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. The re-enactments were supported with interviews with people who were there.

2006
Mike played the role of the Music Agent in the video for the song "No Control" by Pepper. The video hit the #1 spot on MTVu Freshmen. Click here to see the video on YouTube and pictures from the shoot!

Mike played the "good guy" in a Western, "Bounty." On horseback and packing a six gun, he finds and confronts his childhood friend with the thought that he must bring him back to face justice. The short film was produced by Jarred Sexton Productions. Click here to see Mike in action

Mike played the principal role in a television commercial for DirecTV in the part of a Coach who talks about ESPN Game Plan, a partnership between DirecTV and ESPN covering up to 15 college football games every Saturday. The commercial aired on DirecTV to promote the Fall 2006 season. Click here to see some pics of Mike!

2005
Mike was cast in "Curt's Brain," one of 10 finalists for the Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker's Award. Photos of Mike during the shoot and of the finished film can be seen here

Mike shot a commercial for Capitol One; the ad will air in Canada on prime-time television and then come to the United States. Mike is the "What's in your wallet?" guy. Click here to see a picture of Mike!

Mike lent his voice-over skills to "Steel Valley," a film directed by Ed Murphy starring Ed O'Neill. The film was accepted to the Newport Film Festival, the LA Shorts Festival, and festivals in Washington D.C. and Ohio.
